ALGFUTURO: WHO WE ARE?
MESSAGE OF SUPPORT TO ALGFUTURO FROM HIS EXCELLENCY THE PRESIDENT OF PORTUGAL
Unfortunately, I cannot be here with you in person today, but I am sending a big hug and at the same time a word of appreciation.
Appreciation for the four years of work, for the capacity to dream, to achieve comprehensiveness, of ecumenism that Algfuturo, under the leadership of José Vitorino, knew how to fulfill in a particularly important region and at such a time in which the challenges are many.
Challenges of decentralization, of development, social justice, of increase in exports, of tourism incentive, of reception and acceptance of ideas which come from outside, from all over the world. While I am not able to be with you in person today, I know of the significance of this day, and wish to express citizen trust, and last but not least the trust of the President of Portugal. Thank you!

1. OPENING WORDS
The Algarve has extraordinary products and services, some of the best of the world. But they are still relatively unknown and for the most part undervalued, even though they are “world-class” products.
At the Congress “For the Excellency of the Economy of the Algarve”, which had the participation of His Excellency the President of Portugal, it was decided that a BIANNUAL business event would take place starting in 2019.
So, we are embracing this big project involving the economy and the society thus giving place to the first “ TOTAL ALGARVE PROMOTION” in the history of the region.
BINALG is a key operating instrument.

Binalg is a business marketplace, a “demand and supply” platform where reliable business partners can be found. The Project has a global dimension, with connection to the GAID (Diaspora Investors Support Office), Turismo de Portugal and AICEP (Portugal Global – Trade & Investment Agency), University of Algarve, municipalities, Public Organization, associations, etc.
BINALG is on the Algfuturo’s website and functions as a confidential “meeting point” for business objectives carried out by the ALGFUTURO. Strong publicity is underway, including a visit to the Algfuturo’s Pavilion at FATACIL of the Prime Minister Dr. António Costa (received by José Vitorino and accompanied by his wife, the Mayor, and the President of the Municipal Assembly of Lagoa).

The range of offerings is expected to broaden with the additional participation of the Portuguese communities abroad and countries where they live.
ALGFUTURO offers space for meetings between the partners, and logistics support. Moreover, on base of Protocols as well as transports and financial and consulting/auditory/insurance assistance.

Overall, the Algarve provides satisfaction to the “individual DNA(s)” and to the family and community lives, in five cardinal vertices!
Tourism offers many excellencies, but the Algarve as a whole, is a universe of excellencies. The opinion is unanimous and corroborated by His Excellency the President of Portugal and supported by the expression “those who visit us, return”.
The strong “credentials” of the Algarve, which make it a unique region, attracting millions of visitors, business and sports man, politicians, etc, are: safety; business opportunities in agriculture, fishing, property, products of excellence; its university; modern private hospitals; good weather; modern public services; sports for all and land of champions; average cost of living; good food; clean environment; good social facilities; etc.
3. BUSINESS ETHICS CHARTER
The managers of the various Exchanges and the business partners, as the case, to be members of the network must undertake to comply with the rules referred below:
3.1) Denominations of Controlled Origin (DOC); Certifications; Protected Geographical Indications (PGI); Biological and Organic Agriculture: comply with the established standards to have been recognized.
3.2) Comply with all environmental rules for licensing and certification of plants and animals and its perfect state of conservation.
3.3) Strict compliance with deadlines, payment terms and deliveries and other contractual conditions.
